About il-bordura

Finding the right artwork for your space is harder than it should be.

Most people know they want something on that wall. They just don’t know what, or they settle for something generic that never quite feels right.

il-bordura exists to solve that problem.

We’re a Malta wall art studio built around one idea: that the right image, in the right format, changes a room. Not decorates it, changes it. The kind of piece that makes people stop when they walk in.

Every artwork in the collection comes from the Maltese Islands, shot on location by photographer Anton Farrugia across years of exploring Malta and Gozo with a camera. The limestone alleys of Mdina. The salt pans at sunrise. The weathered doors of Gozo. Real places, real light, real moments, printed to last and framed to fit.

Whether you’re furnishing a home, fitting out an office, or looking for something that finally does justice to a particular wall – you’re in the right place.

Our Values

Rooted in Malta

Every image in the collection is shot on location across the Maltese Islands. No stock, no composites — just places Anton has stood, waited for the light, and pressed the shutter. That connection to place is what makes the work specific, and specificity is what makes it last on a wall.

Built to last

Archival-quality materials, precision printing, careful finishing. Each piece is produced to exacting standards so that what arrives looks exactly as intended — and stays that way for years.

Made to fit your space

Finding the right artwork means more than liking an image. Size, format, frame colour, orientation — these all matter. il-bordura is set up to help you get it right, with guides, a custom size option, and direct support when you need it.

Wall Art That Fits Your Style

The Maltese Islands give you a lot to work with and that’s exactly what Malta wall art from il-bordura is built from.

Stark limestone architecture. Vivid harbour colours. The stillness of a Gozitan valley at dusk. Bold abstracts pulled from the textures and tones of the islands themselves.

Whatever your space calls for, a statement piece above the sofa, a considered set for a boardroom wall, something quietly striking in a hotel corridor, there’s a work in the collection that fits.

Every piece is available in multiple sizes and formats, canvas or framed, with limited edition runs that keep each work genuinely exclusive. Not sure what works for your wall? The size guide, frame colour guide, and Wall Art Finder are there to help you get it right before you order.

Meet the Photographer

At the heart of il-bordura is Anton Farrugia, a Malta-based photographer with a long-standing obsession with light, limestone, and the quiet corners of the Maltese Islands.

Each image in the collection is shot on location, informed by years of exploring the islands with a camera. What ends up on your wall is a real moment, not a composite or a concept.
